pleased to meet you.
I'm Mckenna, a therapist who works with people who think too much, feel too deeply, and have moments in which they feel profoundly chaotic. Welcome!
My clients tend to be deeply curious and a little unconventional. Creatives, daydreamers, avid bookworms— anyone who can't help but march to the beat of their own drum will find a home in my office. Together, we make space for the traumas that have marked our hearts. We navigate messy inner worlds. We try different ways to break bad habits, or build routines that actually stick. Sometimes we just sit and wonder how to maintain hope in a world that feels increasingly turbulent. All in a day's work.
In five years of practice the thing I've become most sure of is that therapy isn't a set of interventions— it's a relationship. You aren't coming to me so I can fix your problems. You're coming so you have somewhere safe to unpack them. For that, the most important thing is that we click! While this site has all of the main FAQs you might have, the best way to find out if we're a good fit is just to reach out. I look forward to hearing from you.

My standard rate is $200/50-55 minute session for individuals, and $225/75 minute session for couples.
I also reserve ~33% of my caseload for reduced fee clients. click the more faqs button for more information on my sliding scale! -
I run a private, cash pay practice and don't bill insurance directly. That said, if you have a PPO insurance plan, you may be able to submit a superbill for partial reimbursement. Superbills are generated monthly for clients who request it. See the faqs page for more info.

At the heart of my therapeutic philosophy is the idea that we're not trying to force change; we're making space for it. That idea is embodied perfectly in an exercise from Gestalt therapy called "The Empty Chair." In the exercise, you picture someone sitting in the empty chair across from you. Whether it's a parent, an abuser, or a part of yourself, you get the opportunity to give voice to emotions, desires, and thoughts that haven't previously been expressed. It creates exactly the kind of space I'm talking about: the space where meaningful change can occur.
